With the hectic pace and many pressures of today’s world, the ability to relax is definitely an essential “survival skill.” In this talk, Self-Realization Fellowship monk Brother Govindananda shares wisdom from Paramahansa Yogananda on how to achieve true relaxation. Through the practice of meditation, we can ultimately achieve the highest form of relaxation — learning to relax the ego’s narrow, confining identification with the limited body and mind and thereby rediscover the limitless peace of the soul.
This talk was part of the 2025 SRF World Convocation, a weeklong program of classes on Paramahansa Yogananda’s “how-to-live” teachings and meditation techniques, guided group meditations and kirtans (devotional chanting), virtual pilgrimage tours to the ashrams where Paramahansaji lived and communed with the Divine, and more.
