The International Headquarters Retrofit & Rehabilitation Project has begun, and a new era for SRF’s Mother Center is taking shape. With final permits secured, SRF was blessed to begin the construction phase in October on this historic undertaking. This milestone is a significant beginning — not the completion of the work.
Located atop Mount Washington in Los Angeles, SRF's International Headquarters (the Mother Center) is both the spiritual heart and administrative center of Paramahansa Yogananda’s worldwide mission. Paramahansaji chose this sacred site through divine vision, sanctifying it through by decades of meditation and spiritual communion.
The Mother Center is far more than a historic property. It is a living shrine — a place where Paramahansaji’s presence is still deeply felt. For more than twenty-five years, the Guru lived, prayed, and wrote on these grounds, imbuing every space with spiritual power.
Now more than a century old, this beloved property requires essential upgrades to ensure its safety, accessibility, and continued service as a living spiritual home. This sacred work honors Paramahansa Yogananda’s vision, cares for the spaces he blessed, and helps ensure that the light radiating from the Mother Center continues to guide seekers far into the future.

A generous initial gift helped plant the seed for a new Online Teachings Portal that will make Paramahansa Yogananda’s writings, publications, and teachings more easily accessible to seekers around the world. Now, your prayers and material support are essential to help this work continue growing into its next phases.
SRF is developing this new portal so seekers can discover, study, and practice Paramahansaji’s teachings in meaningful new ways. Envisioned as a spiritual lighthouse for the modern world, it will help longtime devotees, new seekers, and future generations engage more deeply with his wisdom.
When Brother Chidananda introduced this initiative during his January 2026 livestream, he emphasized using the most effective tools of our time to help souls everywhere encounter Paramahansaji’s transformational teachings. That vision is now taking shape.
The Online Teachings Portal is currently in development, with the first phase expected to launch in English in 2027. Thanks to a dedicated team of SRF monastics, staff, volunteers, and contractors early prototypes have been created and tested.
Early user feedback is helping shape the portal to support both ease of use and deeper spiritual study.

Contributions in response to Self-Realization Fellowship’s November 2026 Appeal are for the general support of SRF. As such, gifts shall be designated as, and remain, unrestricted and can be utilized for purposes SRF determines. Donations designated for this Appeal received later than approximately twelve months after the mailing date of the Appeal will be credited to SRF’s most recent general appeal at that time.
