Our dear Brother Nikhilananda passed away serenely on Sunday, October 11, 2026, after devotedly serving in the SRF ashrams as a Self-Realization Fellowship monk for more than forty years.

Brother Nikhilananda, whose name means “Bliss through awareness of completeness,” served in many areas of the SRF work. He will be especially remembered by SRF members around the world for his decades of gentle and compassionate encouragement during his service at SRF temples, centers, and spiritual retreats, and in individual counsel.

A private memorial service will be held in the coming weeks, after which a longer tribute will be posted here in honor of his life of dedication and devotion.

Please join us as we send Brother Nikhilananda our deepest prayers and goodwill as he ascends to the higher realms of God’s eternal light and joy.

Dear Brother Nikhilananda will always be remembered for his quiet composure, loving attention, and enthusiasm for our little chapel in The Hague/Wassenaar in The Netherlands. In June of 2017 he was one of the monks who inaugurated our chapel. He was always enquiring after the group and especially fond of our temple cat, Mix.
Godspeed, Brotherji, and till we meet again,
In Master

Oh! What a shock! I recently spoke to him after a service at Fullerton. What a wonderful monk! Always such a cheerful guy. I'm happy for him that he is with our dear Guruji!

Thank you so much for everything you gave to us in our meditation centers in the Netherlands with so much love and devotion! We will miss you very much, but happy that you are now in the Love of Divine Mother and Guruji

Dear Brother Nikhilananda,
You have been an inspiring example and my personal link to Mother Center particularly in the last decade, wisely accompanying our efforts and service at the Vienna South Meditation Circle.
I keep as a treasured memory my visit to you at Escondido Ashram in September 2025, where you gifted me with a long hour of your personal time and council. Your unexpected call late this Spring 2026, "just to chat a bit" will remain a treasured gift. Parting as we always did " I will keep you in my prayers and you keep me in yours"
Love, Aum, Jai Guru
