Benefits

Learn about the revolutionary positive changes that come through the practice of the techniques of Kriya Yoga

The benefits of the Kriya Yoga path of meditation are multiple. Through regular practice of the meditation techniques, subtle transformations take place in one’s body, mind, and inmost consciousness. Some of these benefits are experienced right away; others unfold progressively and may take more time to become apparent.

Inner peace is one of the first fruits of meditation. Along with that come greater clarity, understanding, and guidance from within.

Meditation brings objectivity and intuitive knowledge of how to address the problems that arise in the course of daily life. It improves one’s concentration and efficiency, and one’s attitude toward work.

It brings greater harmony and joy to relationships and family life, awakening the capacity to give—and receive—unconditional love.

It harmonizes the life forces in the body, removing harmful stress and promoting health and vitality.

Most importantly, it helps to attune one’s consciousness to the Divine, bestowing an unshakable inner happiness and security amidst all circumstances of life.

These results come with sincere effort and by mobilizing the will to continue striving toward the ultimate goal in life—ever new bliss and union with God through Self-realization.

“More and more people nowadays are realizing the tremendous benefits of meditation,” Sri Daya Mata, third president of SRF/YSS, once mentioned at an informal talk at the SRF International Headquarters. But she added:

“Merely to tell someone to ‘practice silence’ does not give him the means to quiet his thoughts. But when he is given a definite technique of controlling the mind to practice, he begins to understand that meditation means much more than merely shutting out the sights and sounds of the outer world; it is stilling the body and mind to such a degree that the consciousness becomes like a calm, crystal-clear lake, able to reflect the blissful presence of God.”

The more one practices the pranayama techniques that are integral to the Kriya Yoga path, and the more one realizes God’s presence within, the more one is able to express the divine qualities of courage, faith, wisdom, love and compassion in daily life.

Practice Kriya Yoga, and you will surely succeed on the spiritual path. That is my own experience. The liberating power of Kriya Yoga sunders the prison bars of karma. I have never found in East or West such a great technique as this. Everyone who is a follower of Kriya and of this path of Self-Realization Fellowship will go far ahead. Meditate and see the results in yourself after a few years. Give yourself a little time. Don't expect results in a minute. You can't make health or money overnight. You must give time. It requires eight years to form a habit. If you meditate and practice Kriya deeply for eight years, you will see you are on the way to self-mastery.
