Decades before the mainstream discovered the power of affirmation in healing the mind and the body, Paramahansa Yogananda was teaching rapt audiences around the United States how to directly access and apply the remarkable healing powers hidden within every human being.
It has been one hundred years since Paramahansaji first composed the transforming affirmations published in his book Scientific Healing Affirmations in 1924.
In this video SRF/YSS President Brother Chidananda shares a story on the origins of that work, as told by Tara Mata, an advanced Kriya Yoga disciple who served as Paramahansa Yogananda’s editor on Autobiography of a Yogi and other works by him until her passing in 1971. Brother Chidananda then describes the very powerful effect of incorporating Paramahansaji’s affirmations in different forms into our lives, before leading a guided meditation to experience the same.
Although the occasion of Brother Chidananda’s address was the dedication ceremony of the SRF Bay Area Temple, all of us can apply his inspiring insights on the use of devotional chants, affirmations, and prayers; and the period of guided meditation he leads can help us to experience immediately their uplifting benefit.

You have introduced Affirmation immediately after Meditation and remain still for long.
This new affirmation technique has helped me to stay bit long with concentration.
