I am greatly relieved to hear that the Lake Shrine and surrounding buildings have been spared fire damage. I joined SRF in 1992 when I was 27 years old, and the incomparable words of Sri Yogananda fill my bookshelves. I was very lucky to be a retreatant and I will always remember that great experience. My family's heartfelt condolences to those who lost their homes.

Now as it seems that Lake Shrine is saved I'm greatly thankful! Living far away from Los Angeles I nevertheless had the blessed opportunity to visit this sacred place in 2018. I feel such a connection with Lake Shrine and the temple. I hope that all those around that have to face largest or completely loss of their homes can find refuge and retreat from an environment of destruction and find solace strength and new courage in the beauty of Lake Shrine and its powerful vibrations! Since shrine was spared, Perhaps when it’s safe to return to the area, open up the temple to give refuge to some of those who lost their homes. And allow those who have lost so much access to the grounds where they can find some solace.

There's a special place in my heart for Lake Shrine, my first SRF temple. After relocating, my husband and I were married on the Ghandi lawn. We're so grateful this beautiful sanctuary has been preserved for all seekers of God's love and peace. Thank you to all who helped save Lake Shrine--from our saints and gurus to the Assad family who lovingly worked to put out many fires. We are so blessed in so many ways. May all affected by these fires be blessed to find new homes and rebuild lives of peace. Bless all involved for their heroic efforts.

Thank you for your kindness; and mentioning the neighbors. I admire the example of the family of firefighters. To me they are courage in action. So, emergency preparedness and training is not ‘worldly’ or ‘worry’ consciousness; I think we have a responsibility to be our brothers’ keeper. My nephew is an LA Firefighter and I know he is there and he is an angel sent by God. May this situation enable us to value each other, the land, and wildlife. What God gave us is precious. Maybe God saved the Lake so the neighbors can recharge their spirits. May Master Bless you all.

While watching the news of the terrible fires as they were happening, I sadly thought to myself "there's no way the Lake Shrine could have survived that..." but then here comes God with his different ideas! Dear Brother Chidananda, I had previously planned on attending Convocation this year, but since the fires I have decided differently. I will connect online and send the money I would have spent on coming to Los Angeles to an organization that SRF suggests on its website that will be helping those in need affected by this terrible incident. My deepest heart felt gratitude for what you and SRF and all our spiritual family are doing to aid in the recovery from this great loss, but also to continue the healing fire of Kriya Yoga alive and well throughout the world.

I have been thinking of all those who have driven past the Lake Shrine, maybe for years, but never visited. Maybe they thought, "I'll go in there someday" but they never did. Now, perhaps they will seek it out as a beacon of hope, a haven of safety. And maybe they'll ask, "What is this place? Who is Yogananda?" and Guruji will smile and the monastics will welcome them with endless love and maybe they'll think, "I never would have come here if everything else wasn't destroyed and this place has changed my life." And that's the good that will come out of this destruction.

How to reconcile and process a modern-day miracle while others are hurting is complex - your guidance and compassion were a soothing balm, and I thank God and Gurus for your leadership in SRF/YSS.

Nearly 10 years ago, we (from north-east England) visited the Lake Shrine with our dear cousins who had been local devotees for many years. We found it a very moving experience. When I saw the location of the LA fires - because the horrors of the recent days have been dominating our news feeds here in Britain too - I felt sure that the Lake Shrine must have been dreadfully damaged. To discover instead that it has survived, in all its incredible beauty, seems completely miraculous. We'd just like to say a big thank you to all who showed such commitment to saving it. I hope they will visit Lake Shrine and find some inner peace. I personally felt the peace that saturates Lake Shrine when I visited during 2019 Convocation. I’m glad I may have the chance to revisit and feel that peace again. After a failed marriage of 37 years to an agnostic, I moved from our shared home to a condo community. Broken hearted, I prayed to guruji to send me a sincere devotee partner. Within a month, he answered my prayers and sent me the catholic "boy next door" who rapidly became convinced by the amazing, universal SRF teachings. His feet were placed firmly on the spiritual path after visiting our beloved LakeShrine. Thank you Guruji for Lakeshrine! My love passed only a few months ago; I am so happy he is with Guruji now.

I am so thankful and grateful to hear the beloved Lake Shrine is still there. I am continuing to pray for the Divine help to safe this most sacred place. My prayers go out to all who are affected in California . It is truly a miracle to hear the news that the Lake Shrine is safe at this time. I ask for God’s will and his help. for the Safety and his protection .

Lake Shrine is in the hands of Divine blessings as a long term plan for our earth _ it is safe as Gods wants it to be. My heart is deeply touched for all those who lost their homes and possessions. These are very difficult life's lessons and I send them all my compassion. In these trials, we are reminded of who we truly are: eternal souls in this very short experience of earthtly incarnation. May God bless them all. For a time, Lake Shrine will stand as an untouched sanctuary amidst the rubble, an anchor of hope in the heart of the devastation. This too is by God's will...

The spirit of divinity pervading the atmosphere within the area of the lake Shrine ,where the saint of the stature of Paramahansa Yogananda stayed and meditated, cannot be obliterated by the fury of nature. I imagine the verdant Lake Shrine, intact and shining, surrounded by ashes and destruction, and hear Guru’s words: “to stand unshaken amidst the crash of breaking worlds”. Only 7 days ago Chidanandaji was predicting the urgency of these teachings would become evermore obvious this year.
