Yoga meditation is the process of cultivating and stabilizing the awareness of one’s real nature,” Paramahansa Yogananda said.

Experience a guided meditation in honor of the 8th UN International Day of Yoga, led by Self-Realization Fellowship monk Brother Tyagananda, who states in his short talk at the beginning of the meditation that yoga is about “cultivating, reawakening, reconnecting with who we truly are, what we truly are” through, in Yoganandaji’s words, “definite spiritual and psychophysical methods and laws by which the narrow ego — the flawed hereditary human consciousness — is displaced by the consciousness of the soul.”

To freely share those yoga methods of gaining awareness of the blissful consciousness of the soul is the reason that Paramahansa Yogananda brought the Kriya Yoga teachings to the West in 1920 and created his Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons.
