Position Summary

  • To maintain a supportive environment year round for all retreatants.
  • Facilitate and supervise in conjunction with Retreat Household Supervisor, maintenance of facilities and ensure excellence in accommodations and service.
  • Ensure that all office procedures and reports are current and that the office is functioning in an efficient manner.
  • Other position-related tasks, as assigned. 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and facilitate the operation of the Retreat office functions, including handling of donations.
  • Interview, train and supervise employees and volunteers who are responsible for answering questions regarding SRF teachings and making reservations for the Encinitas Retreat.
  • Evaluate efficiency and productivity of the department.
  • Administer complaints and plan and distribute work to employees and volunteers.
  • Maintain a positive, silent Retreat environment.  Arrange for the care of retreatants’.
  • Compile monthly Retreat attendance and financial reports.
  • Monitor all reservations and records for accuracy.
  • Ensure that all reservation programs are current at the beginning of each day and completed (as much as possible) at the end of each day.
  • Supervise and facilitate the Retreat’s reservation process.
  • Coordinate counseling with the Retreat Manager.
  • Monitor donations from retreatants and report money received from postcards, phone calls and cash sales.
  • Communicate with the Retreat Household Supervisor regarding all matters pertaining to reservations.
  • Honor and maintain a strict level of confidentiality.
  • Responsible to follow SRF’s policies and established processes.
  • Notify the Retreat Manager regarding any sensitive/challenging situations.
  • Other position-related tasks, as assigned. 

Requirements

  • Knowledge of and experience with SRF principles and standards.
  • Demonstrated successful supervisory experience.
  • General office experience desired.
  • One to three years college or business/vocational school preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent SRF adequately when dealing with the public.
  • The ability to function well in a multi-task environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs desired. 

Additional Details

This is a full-time, salaried exempt position, Wednesday through Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a ½ hr. lunch break (adjust schedule accordingly). Nevertheless, you must be able to work a flexible schedule based on workload and deadlines.

Pay range: $66,000 - $68,640 per year, depending on skills, experience and education.
