Position Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director of the Department of Philanthropic Planning, the Planned Giving Manager oversees the planning, management, coordination and evaluation of a comprehensive Planned Giving Program for Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF). This includes staffing, budgeting, marketing, reporting, donor management, stewardship, and overall program management.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that the SRF Planned Giving Program provides direct strategic assistance to our members in the planning and execution of legacy gifts and collaborates with other DPP staff to assist members with outright gifts in the form of non-cash assets.
- Assisting with the establishment of the Planned Giving Program in the Department of Philanthropic Planning.
- Leading the creation, design and execution of SRF’s planned giving strategies and priorities and developing metrics to measure ongoing success.
- Other position-related tasks; as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, juris doctorate is a plus.
- Minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible fundraising experience with a solid knowledge of planned/charitable giving and estate planning, as well as a basic understanding of legal and tax implications.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience.
- Proven success in closing planned gifts, including but not limited to, bequests, charitable remainder and lead trusts, and gifts of real estate.
- Ability to develop and execute a comprehensive and sophisticated plan that will result in exceptional planned giving opportunities and gifts.
- Self-motivated and self-directed in both the design and completion of complex projects.
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of software, applications, and programs including Microsoft Office, donor databases, and planned giving software/systems.
- Knowledge of, commitment to, and passion for SRF’s mission and core values.
- Able to work a flexible schedule based on workload and deadlines.
- Ability to travel and work after hours for donor visits and events.
- Access to own transportation for business usage.
- Required Travel: 0 – 20%.
Additional Details
This is a full-time, salaried-exempt position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time hours. You must be able to work a flexible schedule based on workload and deadlines.
The position is remote for those residing in California, Arizona, Colorado, Texas, or Virginia.
The selected individual must satisfactorily complete our background investigation, and sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Pay range: $76,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on skills, experience and education.
