Position Summary
The Photo Library Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the department, with a focus on handling, organizing, storing, and preserving photographic materials. This role includes maintaining both digital and physical photo library files, as well as updating and managing related library records to ensure accurate and accessible archives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize photo files and originals (prints, negatives, slides) for digitization, inventory, and preservation.
- Ensure folders and files are properly shelved and organized according to the library's system.
- Assist with locating materials and maintaining the physical order of the department storage/library area.
- Process image requests from other departments.
- Scan & process documents.
- Answer emails, simple questions to photo requestors and assist department staff with various library related tasks.
- Check CDs/DVDs against our external hard drives and send them for bulk copying to Photo Lab if not copied over to the external hard drives.
- Order and stock office supplies.
- Research the latest archival standards and bring any new developments in the market to the department supervisor's attention.
- Honor and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Maintain office environment – such as periodic deep cleaning when needed.
- Responsible for following SRF’s policies and established processes.
- Other position-related tasks, as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of and experience with SRF principles and standards.
- Good communication skills.
- The ability to function well in a multi-task environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Basic knowledge of Photoshop preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge and the ability to scan & process documents.
- Careful attention to detail is necessary for shelving, cataloging, and processing materials.
- The ability to lift up to 10 lbs., sit, stand, walk, push or pull for extended periods of time.
Additional Details
This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. PST.

Pay range: $20.51 - $21.59 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
