Self-Realization Fellowship is seeking a result-oriented Lead Developer to work in our Digital Services Department. This exempt, fulltime position is remote (must reside in CA, CO, AZ or TX).

Position Summary

The person in this role will oversee development teams, providing technical guidance, and driving project execution to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with organizational goals and deliver effective and impactful software applications.
  • Effectively translate organization requirements into technical specifications.
  • Designing, building, and configuring applications to meet operational processes and application requirements, leveraging your technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
  • Leading technical execution and guiding the development team in all aspects of the software development life cycle, including design, development, coding, testing, and debugging, to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Writing testable, scalable, and efficient code, leading by example.
  • Ensuring that software quality and coding standards are met.
  • Setting and enforcing code standards, developing unit testing strategies, and implementing continuous improvement processes.
  • Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Mentoring and guiding developers, fostering their professional growth.
  • Staying updated with the latest technologies and industry trends, continuously enhancing technical skills, and driving innovation within the development team.
  • Responsible to follow SRF’s policies and established processes.
  • Other position-related tasks, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, and 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of experience leading software development teams.
  • Expertise in designing and building cloud-based web and microservice applications, preferably on AWS.
  • Extensive familiarity with web development architecture and JavaScript/TypeScript across backend (Node.js) and frontend (React/Next.js).
  • Experience with serverless and event-driven architecture models, preferably on AWS.
  • Proficiency with agile scrum methodology and processes.
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, and attention to detail with the ability to manage and follow through on multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • DevOps experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, etc.), CI/CD platforms (GitLab, etc.), and observability platforms (New Relic, etc.) is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of SRF principles and standards.
  • The ability to honor and maintain a strict level of confidentiality.

Additional Details

This is an exempt, full-time remote position. We are accepting applicants who reside in California, Colorado, Arizona or Texas.

Able to work a flexible schedule based on workload and deadlines.

Satisfactory completion of organization’s background investigation.

Must sign an employee confidentiality agreement.

No reimbursement for relocation cost offered for this position

Required Travel: 0 – 20%

Pay range: $118,000.00 – $136,000.00 per year (dependent upon education, experience and location)
