This Saturday, August 22, Brother Chidananda, president and spiritual head of Self-Realization Fellowship/Yogoda Satsanga Society of India, will lead a special event celebrating the 75th anniversary of Paramahansa Yogananda’s dedicating the SRF Lake Shrine in Pacific Palisades, California, in 1950.
Paramahansaji established the SRF Lake Shrine as a universal spiritual sanctuary, where people from all over the world can come and experience true peace in heart, mind, and soul. At the dedication of the Lake Shrine on August 20, 1950, he said, “There must be world brotherhood if we are to be able to practice the true art of living. This shrine has been created for all religions, that all may feel the unity of a common faith.”
After the 2025 Pacific Palisades fire, remediation work on the Lake Shrine property prevented us from holding this event in 2025, but we are happy to mark this significant anniversary now with a special celebration with the SRF/YSS president at this sacred site.
This event will be livestreamed from the SRF Lake Shrine Temple on Saturday, August 22, at 10:00 a.m. (Pacific Time), and the video will be available for viewing after the livestream.
While the event will be conducted in English, we are very pleased to share that simultaneous interpretation will be available (only during the live event via Zoom) in German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. In addition, subtitles in these languages plus French and Japanese will be added to the video as soon as possible after the event.
We hope you can join us as we joyfully celebrate this beloved spiritual sanctuary.
