From the talks and writings of Paramahansa Yogananda…

Resolve that you will love the world as your own nation, and that you will love your nation as you love your family. Through this understanding you will help to establish a world family on the indestructible foundation of wisdom.

They are the real peacemakers who generate peace from their devotional practice of daily meditation.

Practice meditation and God-communion regularly, and you will taste the wine of joy and pleasantness all the time, no matter what your outer circumstances. Drinking the nectar of inner peace from the angel hands of your silent realization, you will drown the distractions and sorrows of your daily life.

Once you have found that peace within, then it flows out as a blessing to your environment and the world. Harmony within, harmony without, harmony everywhere! A person who is imbued with God’s peace can feel naught but goodwill toward all. Only that consciousness can bring lasting peace on earth.

We invite you to participate in a “Guided Meditation on Paramahansa Yogananda’s ‘A Prayer for Peace on Earth’” led by SRF monk Brother Bhumananda. This meditation includes visualizing and affirming powerful thoughts from Paramahansa Yogananda’s prayer. After establishing peace within yourself, you can positively impact the world — today and any day — by “permeating the hearts of all leaders and citizens of the world” with your peace and love.
