Each year Self-Realization Fellowship celebrates Janmashtami — the birth anniversary of Bhagavan Krishna, India’s beloved avatar whose teachings are enshrined in the Bhagavad Gita. This joyous annual celebration falls on August 16 this year.
We are happy to announce that on Saturday, August 16, SRF/YSS President Brother Chidananda will lead a special Janmashtami three-hour meditation livestreamed from the SRF International Headquarters in Los Angeles from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. (Pacific Time). During the meditation the Yogoda Satsanga Society of India monks’ kirtan group will be joining Brother Chidananda via livestream from India for periods of devotional chanting. (Please note: Participation in this event will be via livestream only, and the video will be available for viewing after the livestream.)
While the Janmashtami three-hour meditation will be conducted in English, we are very pleased to share that simultaneous interpretation will be available in German, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. In addition, subtitles in these languages plus French and Japanese will be added to the video as soon as possible after the event.

During this meditation session with Brother Chidanandaji through the stream I felt profound spiritual vibrations and experienced healing, uplifting, and personal transformation. It is a wonderful space to be in - Divine Presence - and I would love to return again and again! Thank you!
