Position Summary
The Field Technician is responsible for providing onsite technical support and managing the lifecycle of user endpoint devices. This role involves direct end-user interaction, hands-on infrastructure support at various sites within the Los Angeles / Southern California area technician will need to travel to various sites frequently at short notice.
Responsibilities
Endpoint Management:
- Manages the full lifecycle of user endpoints (laptops, desktops, mobile devices), including procurement, asset tagging, and inventory.
- Provisions and deploys new hardware, including device imaging and software configuration.
- Provides ongoing support and maintenance for all endpoint hardware and software.
Onsite Service Desk Support:
- Acts as the primary point of contact for onsite Level 1 and Level 2 technical support.
- Troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and network connectivity issues for end-users.
- Documents, tracks, and escalates support tickets according to established procedures.
- Serves the both employees and the monastic community
Infrastructure and Network Support:
- Provides secondary support to the Field Network Admin for projects involving servers, network equipment, and other infrastructure.
- Assists with the physical installation (racking, stacking, and cabling) of hardware at various sites.
- Supports system checks, maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting as directed by the Field Network Admin or senior team members.
Basic Telecom and Cabling:
- Performs basic telecom tasks, including running, terminating, and testing Ethernet cables.
- Assists with the setup and troubleshooting of VoIP phones and other communication devices.
- Other position-related tasks, as assigned.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in an IT support or field technician capacity.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with both Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Demonstrated ability to configure and troubleshoot hardware (desktops, laptops, printers) and standard business software (e.g., Microsoft 365).
- Working knowledge of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with endpoint management tools and IT service management (ticketing) systems.

Logistical and Physical Requirements

- Must be able to lift and carry IT equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Additional Details
This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. PST.

Pay range: $34.25 – $36.05 per hour, depending on skills, experience and education.
