Position Summary

Assisting the department manager in supervision, training and coordination of employees and volunteers for Console Operations, IHQ Reception Desk and Visitors’ Center.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with training and orientation for Reception Desk, Visitor’ Center and Console office duties.
  • Serve as contact person for employees and volunteers and with related departments in the organization on behalf of department manager.
  • Facilitate the process of answering inquiries and meeting guests’ needs.
  • Direct all business contacts and reserve meeting rooms as needed.
  • Following up with manager on any problematic behaviors of guests including what is reported by the Greeter.
  • Recognize and assess security issues (Reception/Visitors’ Center)
  • Field questions and complaints (Console Office)
  • Manage and resolve problematic questions or situations autonomously or collaboratively.
  • On-call for weekend volunteer or staff matters on behalf of department manager.
  • Scheduling daily and weekend staffing.
  • Step in to cover Visitors’ Center, Reception Desk and Console as needed.
  • Assist manager to keep information and procedures for Console operators up-to-date and work with Telecommunications Department and Monks’ & Nuns’ Personnel Departments re ongoing updates.
  • Assist manager with reviewing employee timecards and time off requests.
  • Maintain policy and procedures for Console Office, Reception Desk and Visitors’ Center alongside the department manager.
  • Know how to place inventory orders for VC items and maintain stock levels.
  • Know how to receive and confirm inventory orders.
  • Actively participate in annual fiscal four-day year-end inventory of merchandise in the Visitors’ Center.
  • Works with manager to ensure SRF’s policies and established processes are followed by employees and volunteers.
  • Communicate with a warm, gracious, helpful demeanor while serving guests or callers
  • Responsible to follow SRF’s policies and established processes
  • Other position-related tasks, as assigned. 

Requirements

  • Supervisory / management and/or public relations experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • The ability to initiate solutions for improvements and problems.
  • Knowledge of proper cash handling procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent SRF adequately when dealing with the public.
  • The ability to function well in a multi-task environment.
  • The ability to honor and maintain a strict level of confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs required.
  • Knowledge of and experience with SRF principles and standards. 

Additional Details

This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position.

Monday through Friday

An SRF kriyaban member is preferred.

Pay range: $22.80 - $24.00 per hour, depending on skills, experience and education.
