We are very happy to announce that starting on June 21, Sunday morning inspirational services and meditations will once again be held at the Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine Temple.
This is the first time since the 2025 Palisades Fire, which devastated much of the surrounding area of Pacific Palisades, California, that the Lake Shrine congregation and members of the Palisades community will again be able to experience Sunday services in the temple sanctuary. (See earlier blog post about the opening last August of the meditation gardens at Lake Shrine and the fire’s impact on the property.)
June 21 is also the International Day of Yoga, so the theme of the Sunday morning service at the temple will be aligned with this worldwide celebration.

Weekly schedule — every Sunday (starting June 21)
Services will be led by a Self-Realization Fellowship minister.
- 10:00 a.m. — Guided meditation
- 11:00 a.m. — Inspirational service
All are welcome to attend! For details, please visit lakeshrine.org.
Reflecting on the significance of inspirational services resuming at the temple, Brother Satyananda, minister-in-charge at the Lake Shrine, said: “We greatly look forward to welcoming back to the beautiful temple sanctuary our Lake Shrine congregation, our Palisades neighbors, and all who seek spiritual truth and inner peace. It will be wonderful to once again join as a spiritual community — to focus on the divine teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, and to meditate together and absorb the uplifting spiritual vibrations of his beloved Lake Shrine.”
We invite you to learn more about the Lake Shrine and how to plan a visit, on the SRF Lake Shrine website.
