The 2026 SRF World Convocation — held August 2–8 — stands out as an expansive spiritual gathering spanning the globe. It brought together thousands of spiritual seekers — in person and online from 120 countries — for a week of meditations, kirtans (devotional chanting), inspirational talks on Paramahansa Yogananda’s Kriya Yoga teachings, joy-filled spiritual fellowship, and more.
Special Events With Brother Chidananda
During the week, Convocation attendees had two very special opportunities to spend time with Brother Chidananda, president and spiritual head of Self-Realization Fellowship/Yogoda Satsanga Society of India.
In a three-hour meditation on Wednesday morning, Brother Chidananda guided participants in diving deep within to experience the Divine Presence. At the meditation’s start he encouraged everyone to use the ensuing hours to let the world fall away and to feel immersed in the presence of God and the Great Ones.
On the Friday of Convocation Brother Chidananda gave an encouraging and uplifting satsanga. He exhorted Convocation participants to identify with being “finders and manifesters of Self‑realization” — rather than just “seekers” — manifesters of the soul’s divinity and of the qualities of our true Self.
During the talk, Brother Chidananda reflected on the publication 80 years ago of Paramahansaji’s spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi, and how important of a milestone it was in the history of a human civilization. He also spoke on several other topics including “the yoga psychology of Paramahansa Yogananda” and how daily meditation can address the spiritual hunger that so many feel in the world today; and led all those in attendance in a powerful guided meditation and visualization to purify the consciousness and experience security, assurance, and peace.
I received so much during this Convocation. I am very grateful and hope I can put to spiritual use everything I have learned.

New Book by Sri Daya Mata Released During Convocation
During the opening class of Convocation, Brother Saralananda announced the release of Journey With Paramahansa Yogananda by Sri Daya Mata — the third anthology of spiritual counsel by SRF’s third president — which shares the lived wisdom from her twenty years of spiritual training and practice with her guru, Paramahansa Yogananda.
Journey With Paramahansa Yogananda was available to all those attending in person in Los Angeles, and is now available for pre-order for October delivery.

A Worldwide Gathering of Souls
In addition to the program of events at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, joined by thousands more around the world online, SRF monks and nuns visited thirteen cities in North and South America, Europe, and Australia, to lead Convocation activities with local attendees.
It’s unbelievable how much the Convocation events help in igniting divine fervor, enthusiasm, and joy, and in renewing spiritual goals and inspiration!

Pilgrimage Tours to SRF Sites
Convocation participants had the opportunity to participate in pilgrimage tours and experience the sacred SRF sites in Southern California where Paramahansa Yogananda lived and communed with the Divine, including: SRF International Headquarters (the Mother Center), Lake Shrine Temple and Meditation Gardens, Hollywood Temple and Forest Lawn Memorial Park (where Paramahansa Yogananda’s crypt is located), Encinitas Ashram Center, and the San Diego Temple. Virtual pilgrimage tours were also available online for those joining the Convocation program from afar.
The SRF Mother Center
The 2026 Convocation provided an opportunity to visit the SRF Mother Center before the grounds are temporarily closed for the International Headquarters Retrofit & Rehabilitation Project.
SRF nuns welcomed visitors from around the world, sharing inspiring stories from Paramahansaji’s life. Guests enjoyed meditating in the peaceful surroundings, devotional chanting, visiting Paramahansaji’s shrine rooms, and a traditional Indian meal.

Thank you for sharing all these glorious photos! My wife and I are currently in the process of rewatching all the Convocation talks and classes, and we love it every bit as much as the first time. What a blessing it is to have access to such a treasure of inspiration and wisdom! Jai Guru!
God felt so close, and I was able to love Him as I have long yearned to love Him. I returned home kinder, calmer, happier, and more considerate. There is a deeper understanding and many obstacles got removed from within.
