Let us all go forward together with renewed enthusiasm, undaunted resilience, with the inspiration and determination to deepen our practice, to share our light, to shine humbly as beacons of divine love in this world.
SRF/YSS President Brother Chidananda
Loving greetings from the ashrams of Self-Realization Fellowship!
We are happy to take this opportunity to thank you, a cherished member of our worldwide spiritual family, for the many ways you contribute to Paramahansa Yogananda’s sacred work.
The Impact of Your Support
Your prayers, volunteer service, and material gifts are helping SRF reach truth-seekers across the globe and share the light of Paramahansaji’s Kriya Yoga teachings.
Listed below are a few ways your support has enabled us to accomplish much this past year in furthering our five current organizational priorities:
1. Spreading the Light: Sharing the Teachings Globally
- We published 2 new books by Paramahansa Yogananda: Solving the Mystery of Life and The Spiritual Expression of Friendship;
- In addition, 2 new ebooks and 3 new audiobooks were released in English.
- 48 print books and 10 ebooks were also released in 18 other languages — with your support and the help of many dedicated volunteers and employees on our worldwide Translations team.
2. Inspiring Seekers: Enhancing Programs, Services, & Technology
- The SRF Young Adult Sangha hosted more than 20 events, including livestreams of monastic-led in-person retreats, an event at the 2025 SRF World Convocation (shown above), and monthly online gatherings. Topics ranged from “Harmonizing Work and Spiritual Life” to “Exploring Loyalty on the Spiritual Path.”
- In 2025 the SRF Online Meditation Center offered more than 2,600 events to participants in 139 countries. A number of new programs were added, such as study groups in Spanish for Autobiography of a Yogi and The Yoga of Jesus.
- Online “how-to-live” classes for children and teens continued to reach participants worldwide, nurturing their spiritual growth and strengthening community.
3. Sustaining a Monastic Nucleus: Nurturing & Upholding SRF’s Renunciant Order
- Supported by your donations, SRF monastics continued offering devoted service to our global community, including spiritual counseling and nearly 100 visits to cities around the world to share Paramahansa Yogananda’s teachings.
- Much planning is being conducted to help us establish a long-term sustainable senior care program with dedicated facilities for elderly monastics.
- The monks’ living quarters at the SRF Hollywood Ashram Center are undergoing a crucial seismic retrofit to ensure their safety and longevity.
4. Honoring the Guru’s Legacy: Preserving SRF’s Sacred Sites & Sanctuaries
- At the SRF Lake Shrine, the public meditation gardens and the Windmill Chapel were reopened for the first time since the 2025 Palisades Fire. Remediation work throughout the 10-acre property continues so that the other facilities (including the Temple and Retreat) can be reopened as well. Monastic-led inspirational services and meditations began to be offered at the Windmill Chapel in late January 2026.
- At the SRF Encinitas Ashram Center, many projects to restore, preserve, and upgrade the facilities were completed, such as renovating portions of the nuns’ and monks’ ashram buildings, landscaping maintenance for the blufftop Hermitage grounds, and ongoing upkeep and repair work on various buildings made necessary by the constant effects of the salty coastal environment. And plenty more projects for this beloved and iconic site are planned for the years ahead.
- At the Mother Center, extensive preparation and planning are underway for the International Headquarters Retrofit and Rehabilitation Project. We anticipate the construction phase to begin in the fall of 2026, pending permit approvals from the City of Los Angeles.
5. Building for Tomorrow: Ensuring Organizational Resilience & Growth
- Across all SRF departments, new systems, workflows, and expertise are being implemented to enhance efficiency and collaboration, and (in many cases) to permit staff or volunteers to serve from all over the world.
