Revised February 12, 2024
As explained in this policy, when you visit the Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF) websites at yogananda-srf.org (collectively the “Site”), or other services offered by SRF (collectively the “Services”), SRF may set cookies to support functionality and collect information about your use of our Site and Services. In addition, SRF uses the services of third-parties to provide certain functionality on the Site. These third parties may set cookies as well.
A cookie is a small piece of data (text file) that a website stores on your computer or device in order to remember information about you, such as a unique identifier, your language preference or login information.
As explained in Section 3 below, you do not have to accept cookies and you may set your browser to restrict their use, and you may delete them after they have been placed on your hard drive or device. If you do not accept cookies, some areas of our Site or Services may take more time to work, or may not function properly. If you delete cookies set by our Site, our Site will not remember your settings and you may have to log in again.
BY CONTINUING TO USE THE SITE OR SERVICES, YOU CONSENT TO THE PLACEMENT OF COOKIES ON ANY DEVICE USED TO ACCESS OUR SITE OR USE THE SERVICES.
1. Our First Party Cookies
First party cookies are cookies set by SRF and through the SRF website domain you are visiting (such as yogananda-srf.org). We set the following categories of first-party cookies.
Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential in order to enable you to move around the Site and use its features that you have requested, such as logging in to our Member Portal, filling out forms or placing items in your shopping cart. These cookies can also be used to remember preferences or choices for services you requested, such as selecting your language. You can set your browser to block these cookies, but some parts of the Site may not work then.
Performance Cookies
These cookies collect information about how visitors use our Site, for instance which pages visitors go to most often, and if they get error messages from web pages. These cookies do not collect information that specifically identifies a visitor. All information that these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. We use Google Analytics to process and analyze information from our Performance Cookies. Cookie information sent to Google Analytics is not linked to any personally identifiable information, is not used to track users across websites not owned by SRF, and we send only anonymized IP address information to Google. For more information about how to opt out of having your information used by Google Analytics, visit https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/.
2. Third-Party Cookies
Third party cookies are set by a third party (not SRF) and by a domain other than the SRF website domain you are visiting (a domain other than yogananda-srf.org).
We use third parties to enhance the functionality of our Site, and several of these third parties set Third Party Cookies. These third parties include PayPal (which we use to allow people to make payments or donations through PayPal), YouTube and Vimeo (which we use to support video and audio content), AddThis (which we use to allow visitors to share content via social media), and Twitter (which we use to allow people to share content to our Site). These third parties may set Functional Cookies and Targeting Cookies.
Functional Cookies
These cookies are used to provide services on the site, including providing payment functionality, video and audio playback, to include content, and the ability to share content on social media websites and services. You can set your browser to block these cookies, but then some parts of the site may not work.
Targeting Cookies
These cookies may be set by third parties and used by those companies to track your activities on our site and other sites, to build a profile of your interests, and to show you relevant ads on other sites. They work by uniquely identifying your browser or device. To learn more about these advertising practices or to opt out of this type of advertising, you can visit www.networkadvertising.org or www.aboutads.info/choices/. If you block these cookies, you may not experience targeted advertising on other sites.
3. Controlling Your Cookie Preferences
Most web browsers allow some control of most cookies through the browser settings. To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set, visit www.aboutcookies.org or www.allaboutcookies.org.
