Climbing Tree Pruner

Responsibilities

Assist in care of legacy and other significant trees.

Upkeep, care and pruning of large trees.

Follow instruction relating to all phases of work, and implement as necessary.

Implement annual fertilization plan.

Other position-related tasks, as assigned.

Responsible to follow SRF’s policies and established processes.

Requirements

At least one-year experience and knowledge of pruning and care of large trees.

Tree pruning experience with SRT style or similar style rope climbing. Ability to climb with gaffs or climbing spurs.

Must be able to work outdoors, in all weather conditions, doing very physical work, able to lift/carry 35-80 pounds often.

Possession of a current International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Tree Worker Certificate is desirable but not required.

Ability to remain on task until projects are complete.

Ability to work in cooperation with other employees as group projects require.

Ability to function efficiently and independently when required.

Ability to prune small and medium sized shrubs.

Experience in horticulture and gardening.

Experience with plant materials, and the ability to identify concerns (diseases / health of trees) as they arise.

This is a 35 to 40 hour per week position, Monday through Friday.
